Well, we are outta here!! My grandpa has decided that all of us are leaving!! I don't know where we are going, but my gdma said he was walking out the door to go somewhere and he said, "We aren't staying here and neither are the kids." So no telling where he plans on hauling us off to lol!! All I know is that John is gonna have to get those trees cut down when he gets home and we are gonna pack up my sentimental stuff that can't be replaced. I'm not sure if we are leaving tonight or tomorrow. It all depends on how fast this thing is moving.

We always stay home....hell they'd run us off from anywhere with 3 dogs and 4 cats with us. Our neighborhood has never flooded.....the streets do, but not into the houses. But the streets here, between here and Houston, and some in Houston sure have become ragin' rivers before. Guess I need to start thinkin' about candles, etc. - I usually have a bunch of 'em but I think I'm clean out of 'em. [img]confused.gif[/img]

Wild.....Houston's not outa danger by any stretch ya know! It's worse than here sometimes 'cause of all the damn rain they bring with 'em.

Lil Fut - does it flood a lot there? I'm guessin' it might - seems like that area's had the streets all under water before....near there at least, if not right there. You're between here and Houston, so pay attention to what that thing's gonna do!

If any of us have to take off, or if we're apt to lose our electricity 'n stuff and can't be online for a few days, try to post ahead of time and let us all know you're gonna be away from your puters, or whatever so we won't imagine the worst if we don't hear from ya for a while. Then let us hear from ya soon as possible!

Oh DAMN! Think I just heard there's another one churnin' away just south of Cuba now too. [img]frown.gif[/img] It HAD been kinda quiet far as the tropical weather this year - guess it's makin' up for lost time.

John doesn't get paid till late Thursday or early Friday so we have limited funds! LOL!! Sure, we could leave but we would be sleeping in the car!!! LMAO!! We can't leave [img]frown.gif[/img] We only have $45 and John doesnt get paid till probably Fri (Thurs if hes lucky). See, my gdpa was gonna pay for our hotel room and all but now hes decided to ride it out so we can't leave. $45 wont get us gas, motel and food.

We're closer to the coast than Houston, but last I heard it's comin' more your way than ours. I imagine we may get some rain and maybe some wind - then again we may get nothing.....ya never know [img]frown.gif[/img] But we'll end up ridin' it out if it ends up comin' straight for us - can't take nor leave all these animals, so we gotta stay here.

There's another one (not a hurricane yet tho) floatin' around south of Cuba somewhere last I heard too. No tellin' where it'll end up.

We'll all keep ya in our thoughts and prayers... just stock up on what you'll need and don't get caught out even if ya don't get too much wind but get a lot of rain. That's how a lot of people around here have nearly been lost - gettin' caught in flash floods 'n stuff. Not tryin' to scare ya, but just stay in and be careful!

WOW! I just saw the info on the storm on the weather channel..... [img]eek.gif[/img] Unless somethin' changes drastically, we've got some kinda trough or somethin' that's probably gonna push it away from us for the most part...they're sayin' we may get some wind and rain Thursday mornin'. Louisiana's already haulin' butt tho.....but New Orleans is below sea level to begin with. [img]confused.gif[/img] Looks like MS and LA are already catchin' hell in the rain department.

No, I'm not on the coast. I'm about an hour to an hour and a half away from Biloxi and I'm 70 miles N of New Orleans. Technically, I'm in Mississippi but I'm a whole whopping 5 minutes from Bogalusa,La (Washington Parish) which is where I was born and raised. It's easier to tell people that I live in Louisiana than try to explain where in Mississippi I live since I live in more or less a very, very, tiny community LOL!! It's not even on the map!! We have one store here unless you count a feed store and a building supply place LMAO!!! No red lights. Everyone knows everyone and that's no exaggeration.
Anyway and no how, it looks like it's gonna get us. We don't need water since we have a free flowing well, we have candles, batteries and flashlights and a generator so we won't lose any of our meat and stuff in the freezer. We have beanie weenies LOL!!! We also have bread, peanut butter and jelly which is what my kids would live off of if I would let them lol!! We're gonna be alright...I hope [img]confused.gif[/img]

Well, right now it's a tropical storm again and it's 60 mph and from the way that they are talking on the Weather Channel, they don't expect it to strengthen very much, if at all. I really hope that's the case. I feel sorry for all those people in New Orleans who's homes are gonna get flooded!! A family friend called last night. She lives in New Orleans but also has a really nice home here (her hubby was a millionaire and left her more that well set when he died 2 yrs ago. They own oil rigs). Anyway, she called yesterday evening to let my gdparents know that she was on her way down here. She got here safely last night. She just knows her house is gonna be flooded when she gets back to New Orleans!! My gdpa and uncle have told her that they will go to N.O. after all this is over and help her get her house all straightened out.
We are under tornadoe watches until 1pm!! Not very comforting!! A tornadoe is worse than a damn hurricane!! At least you have warning with a hurricane...a tornadoe just pops up all of a sudden.
My gdma told me to call my brother that lives in McNeil, MS and tell him to get his ass down here last night. Well, he has been going to bartending school (Of all the courses he could have taken, he chose that!! lol). I called over there and he was showing off what he has learned and him, his roommate and 2 other people were all drunker than Cooter Brown!! LOL!! His friend kept insisting that he sing to me over the phone lol!! Anyway, I told him to stay put since he was so drunk but to get his ass down here as soon as he got up.
He goes to school on the coast and he said it was really bad down there last night. He said it was beyond pouring down rain there!! They are gonna catch it just as bad as New Orleans as far as flooding and all goes.
So tonight, my gdparents will have a full house with my brood and my brother there lol!! I really think we would be ok staying here but my gdparents want us there because we have more trees here than they do lol!!
Has anyone been watching hurricane Lily? I think she's gonna hit Florida. At least that's what it looks like to me.
Ok, I have babbled and rambled long enough. As long as I'm typing, I don't feel so nervous...does it show? LOL!!
